180 Re-Grab

A bar movement in which the traceur swings forward, releases their grip on the bar, completes a half twist (180 degrees rotation), and re-grabs the same bar they swung from.

Progression

Release only one hand from the bar and turn away from the released hand and swing back in a mixed grip swing.

Pro Tip

  • If you “throw” the bar back with your release hand, it will make the rotation/twist easier

Complete Move

Once you have the progression down, release both hands, but still maintain the principle of a throw hand in order to make the rotation easier.

Pro Tip

  • As you first do this move, you probably won’t grab in the same place as you released, but as you improve, try to re-grab closer and closer to where you released.
